N.T. Wright definately answered some questions I have had, and I really appreciated how he discussed hope, not in terms of making me feel good despite certain facts, but in terms of showing me what Jesus really is talking about in some of those apocalyptic parables.

People changed the words to "Away In A Manger," this Christmas. People are singing the last verse:

"Be near me Lord Jesus
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever and love me I pray
Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to heaven to live with Thee there

But the original text written by James R. Murray is:

Be near me Lord Jesus I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever and love me I pray
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care
And fit us for heaven to live with Thee there.

That little change makes a big difference to me, and I think it illustrates part of what N.T. Wright is talking about in his book.
